Friends Group

We’re looking for amazing people… Are you an outgoing person with good communication skills and good knowledge of what’s going on in your local community? Could you get together with some like minded people to help raise funds and awareness of the work of Rainbow Valley? Friends Groups will be vital to Rainbow Valley – friends to us and friends to each other, you will be the connection between us and your local community.  We are over the moon to announce that we already have a fabulous Friends Group supporting us in Lochgilphead. This amazing group of people held a fantastic full week of fundraising in May.

Rainbow Valley Skydive-Dubai The Sky’s The Limit! In April Craig MacCallum and Nicola Allan took part in a skydive in Dubai as part of their holiday, and raising £500 for Rainbow Valley. Find out how they got on – read more.

Sarah’s Swim – Two Marathons in 63 Days Sarah McNee raised money by swimming 60 lengths every day for 2 months. She donated all of her sponsorship money to Rainbow Valley. “As they say, every single penny counts and the more money we manage to raise, the more money will go in to this fantastic charity to help families and friends who have to face the aftermath of losing someone, for the person who is suffering this terrible disease to keep a positive mind, understand their disease and hopefully be able to fight it and for the people who have been less fortunate and just couldnt hold on, for everyone who has passed from this dreadful disease, I will keep you in my heart and my thoughts forever as I go through this journey.” Sarah McNee

Bishopton Co-op Throughout the year, the staff of Bishopton Co-op have been raising money with raffles, bucket collections, tombolas and much much more. To date they have raised almost £4,000. We are overwhelmed by their continued support in Johanna’s home town.

Firewalk 25 brave souls took on the firewalk challenge in February. In addition to raising vital funds for Rainbow Valley our participants found the experience to be empowering, inspirational and horizon expanding to say the least!

Five a Day Fitness Day An amazing £1266 was raised at the Five a Day Fitness Challenge in January. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part, the fabulous instructors and of course Fiona Mcgregor for organising such a fantastic day.

White Water Rafting In August, 48 fun loving, and just a little bit crazy, people from Bishopton, hopped on a bus and headed for the River Tay for a day of adventure. The whole day, organised by Lorimers of Bishopton, was a massive success, raising a whopping £5433 for Rainbow Valley

Trossachs 10K Runners of all ages and abilities took part in this year’s Trossachs 10k – well done and thank you to everyone who took part. There was a very special atmosphere in Aberfoyle as people gathered for the start of the annual race and we were reminded that the following day would have been Johanna’s 37th birthday. Rainbow Valley is immensely grateful to Jillian McLean and Ian Lawson and their team of volunteers for organising this event. And there’s more…
