Like the whole world, Rainbow Valley had to rethink both our fundraising and support for those on their cancer journey earlier this year. We quickly developed our online courses which are running currently and filling up month on month allowing us to reach many more people at a time when they need our support the most.
Our Annual Ball in November has been going for 8 years and remains our largest fundraising event. Sadly of course we've had to cancel our 2020 event and so we are now looking at other ways to raise the funds that will allow us to continue our work into 2021.
Taking inspiration from our unique '7 Steps to Health' course for those living with cancer we have created a virtual event concept with the aim of raising £7,777 before the end of 2020!
All of the funds raised will be used to continue the successful delivery of our online courses into 2021.
The '7 Wonders Challenge' invites you to take on a personal goal in aid of Rainbow Valley, get some friends to join you (Government guidelines permitting). Some ideas include Walk 7 miles for 7 days; Climb 7 Munro’s; Do a 7 Day Challenge; Cycle 77 miles; Run a 7K for 7 days; Organise 7 mini fundraising events with family, friends or colleagues - or pick your own challenge!
If you are able to support our ambition of supporting those on their cancer journey by signing up, we are here to support you as you take on your own personal challenge.

Given that my recent diagnosis was the second time for me, I have been under the “cancer care umbrella for a decade now and in all that time, I have never once been given the opportunity to attend anything like the experience we had with Rainbow Valley. This is particularly surprising as my cancer receives more publicity and funding than any other cancer type in the world! I do receive a magazine twice a year from one charity and have attended a talk on fertility issues and been given details of local mindfulness classes. Whilst I am sure invaluable support and advice is provided for many people by the bigger charities, this has not been my experience. We were astounded with the level of support and advice we received from Rainbow Valley, especially as they funded my husband to attend also. The 3 days we attended their seven steps to health course benefited us more than all other help collectively over the last 11 years. It is amazing that a relatively young charity without the benefit of the huge marketing budgets enjoyed by the high profile charities are able to achieve this.
This course has opened my eyes to thinking about ‘ME’ putting myself first. Learning new techniques to relax feel good and have laughter in my life again. As a visually impaired person I was included in every session and facilitators took time to look after me. The only thing I could suggest is enlarge written material were possible, I am fortunate to have some very useful sight and can use a magnifier. I really enjoyed watching Dare to bare was emotional but really good to hear how these ladies had the confidence to get up and strut their stuff. Well done to each and everyone of them. I don’t know if you would consider me for this as I am feeling really confident about myself after 7 steps course. I will definitely recommend this course to others. I will speak to my managers and suggest this course for our staff. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Rainbow Valley for giving me this chance to take part in the course. Also a great big thank you to Betty she is an amazing lady helped relax me also look out for me.

LOVED this course. Edward was so informative but not full of jargon. He made me understand Mindfulness really easily. He has such a talent of making you feel relaxed at times, then make you cry with laughter the next!
He took time for each and every one of us and genuinely cared about how we were feeling. Just wished it was longer!
As usual, I came away feeling invigorated and loved
The mindfulness course was everything I had hoped it would be. Edward is amazing. He makes you laugh and feel good and puts everyone at ease. He takes you from laughter to complete relaxation.
He makes mindfulness make sense and equips you with tools to take home to make it happen in your everyday.
I feel so blessed to have been apart of this experience. I affirmatively and positively was present in the moment and loved every minute of it.
There was a great feeling of being home on arriving at Ardoch. The familiarity instantly made you relax. Seeing familiar faces to welcome you was simply lovely. Having all the beautiful food again was a reminder and a gentle prompt and encouragement to eat a rainbow!
Thank you so so much for all your hard work. Thank you so much to Rainbow Valley for giving my mum and I not only special time together but also for equipping us with knowledge and skills to enhance our lives.
To be part of the Rainbow Valley family is a privilege. – Lou Collins
